The Mannequin Brings Fashion To Life at Villa Milano

The Mannequin Brings Fashion To Life at Villa Milano

NID Magazine recently attended The Mannequin event, with ten hip fashion designers, straight from the spacious Villa Milano.

There were models, fashionistas, designs, and more.

Mannequin is a Christina Scott production (Signature Couture Events) hosted by Ev Jones and Nia Noelle (Fashion Director of Fashion Week Columbus).

Backstage, the Mannequin fashion artists were finishing up hair and makeup for the show.

NID took said hello to model Darci Joy, who posed for a few back stage pictures before she took the stage.

Guests were dressed up …

Bill Bartolini said hello, attending with a friend and her daughter who would later win the impromptu model walk contest.

The ever classy Joan Madison smiled, offering her contagious positive energy. Joan’s dresses are elegant, classy and bring epic beauty to the shows she attends.

DJ Beat Banguz Mixologist kept the scene lively.

Guests settled into their seats getting ready for the event.

The show started with a live mannequin performance featuring Dashonda Jones of D Jones Designz.

Next, let’s review the designer highlights from the Mannequin show.

World of Agape brought an edgy “trash bag” fashion style that was pretty over the top. NID wondered if the models were going to shed the trash bags at some point to reveal the true fashion – but we were kept in suspense.

D Luckett Designs was elegant, pretty and modern – a woman wearing her designs would be noticed.

Shina Jamison’s Rock Of Faith put on a show.

NID loved her vogue synchronized theme that opened her fashion, and the high energy men who danced on the stage. Her show was cool and hip just like the clothes.

D Jones Designz felt youthful and pretty, with the best outfit going to a hip jean skirt.

Designs by Winborn were exciting, fresh and cool. Guys would surely get noticed wearing his fashion. Best image was a hard choice.

Xantha Designs has you covered with creative use of denim and fabric.

House of Baboski brought out the big fashion guns for all sizes. NID loved her color, and sytle with best outfit worn by the designer.

The walk on runway show included these elegant Mannequin models …

Sika of Kingdom Fashion will make you feel pretty. NID loved the springy skirt, and that’s the best outfit from her collection.

Joan Madison: If you wear a Joan Madison design, you’re going to shine. Her fashion is beautiful, including the epic red dress that is the best outfit.

Fly Ty 24 Hour Creations: Wow! is the right response to Fly Ty. Not only do you want to be seen wearing these clothes – there is no doubt people will ask who are you? if you wear them.

We loved his energy, style and dressing the models as part of the show – this was was truly unique. Easily the best designer of the show. We can’t wait to see more Fly Ty work.

The Mannequin was a hugely successful event, showcasing local designers, while confirming how much talent is right within our own city.

A big shout out to Villa Milano. Now It’s Dark was proud to be there, supporting Columbus fashion.

Stay tuned for more!
